According to a report in the UK’s Financial Times newspaper, Anderson was allowed to leave the country but may be asked to return for further questioning at a later date.

The authorities are investigating 888’s sponsorship deal with the Toulouse football team, when Anderson was the chief executive of the gaming group.

The deal was terminated in December, three months after French officials arrested the co-directors of Austrian online firm Bwin with illegal advertising of internet gaming for its shirt sponsorship of the Monaco. 888 were unavailable for comment.
