María Clara Martínez, Marketing Manager of Gtech in the country, revealed that the 32 % of the sales of the company last year had to do with commercial services offered through equipments. She talks about the sale of minutes for fixed and movile phones, Internet and the payment of invoices of public and private services and so on.
Gtech currently has agreements with 37 companies, like Telefónica - Telecom, Telefónica - Movistar, Orbitel, Tigo, Avantel, Comcel, ETB, NetCard, Skynet, Codensa, Gas Natural, Superview, Electrocosta, Electricaribe and EPM Bogota.
According to figures provided by Gtech, of the three million operations performed each week through Baloto terminals, 2,65 million have to do with its gambling business (Baloto, Chance PagaTodo, etc.), 200,000 are related to the payment of invoices and 150,000 to the sale of minutes for the use of telephones.
In order to develop its line of commercial services, that will be called VIA Baloto, Gtech invested us$ 2 million, so the total investment of the company in Colombia is of us$ 25 million in the latest seven years.
Martinez pointed that Baloto registered sales for us$ 62,585,330 in 2006, a 18 % more than the figures of 2005. In 2007, the goal is to reach US$ 70,830,877.
Besides, Baloto generated incomes for public health of US$ 200,270,832, while the prizes delivered are US$ 31,292,433. GTech intends to increase up to 18 million its weekly transactions for its equipments.
