Codere announces acquisition of AWP operator in Spain

Based in Palma de Mallorca, Recreativos MAE operates approximately 700 AWP machines, as well as more than 2,500 Type A and vending machines located in bars,restaurants and cafes. It also operates arcades and has commercial agreements to place machines in hotels throughout the island of Mallorca.

Commenting on the acquisition, Pedro Vidal, Head of Spain AWP for Codere expressed, “the growth strategy which we have been pursuing for the last several years is reflected in acquisitions such as this one, in which Codere is strengthened by the incorporation of a first rate operator such as Recreativos MAE”. director at Recreativos MAE, also expressed his satisfaction with the deal, “valuing positively the policy of associations and partnerships which Codere is pursuing in its commercial strategy”.

Codere is a Spanish company dedicated to the private gaming industry in Europe and Latin America. Codere operates more than 44,000 gaming machines, 113 bingo halls, 51 off-track betting facilities, two horse racing tracks and five casinos in Spain, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Panama and Uruguay.
