According to a Venetian spokesman, the sign on the convention center adjacent to The Venetian is being fully changed this week, and work began Tuesday night. Las Vegas Sands announced that the property's name was being changed back in July. The company is preparing to transition The Venetian, Palazzo and The Venetian Expo to Apollo and Vici later this year.

The Sands Expo and Convention Center has started the building's signage change to officially become The Venetian Expo, with the changes beginning on Tuesday night.

Back in July, Las Vegas Sands Corp. announced that the property’s name was being changed. In addition, The Venetian Congress Center, a group of meeting rooms and ballrooms within The Venetian, has changed its name at the same time to The Venetian Convention Center.

Venetian spokesman Keith Salwoski explained the sign on the 2.25 million-square-foot convention center adjacent to The Venetian, which is the largest private convention center in the U.S., is being fully changed this week.

“As part of our transition plan, we are removing the Sands portion of the Expo sign”, Salwoski said. “it will be replaced later this year with a new Venetian Expo sign”.

He also added that the current sign will be retained by the company, which is preparing to transition The Venetian, Palazzo and The Venetian Expo to new owners later this year.

Back in July, when the announcements were made, President and COO of The Venetian Resort said in an official release: “Although their names are changing, you can expect the same unmatched service from our team members in these venues”.
