Hard Rock International has filed plans with the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority to build a gas station in an Atlantic City property.

Hard Rock's proposed complex will be located at the corner of Pacific and Virginia avenues and is part of the company’s redevelopment of the closed Trump Taj Mahal.

Rockstop Gas & Wash would include a convenience store, gas pumps and a car wash. In June, Hard Rock opened its first gas station in Northfield, Ohio, as part of its Hard Rock Rocksino.

The Land Use Division of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) will review the plans during a hearing at 10 a.m. on Dec. 21.

Since July, workers have been removing the ruby-red minarets and onion domes that dominate the property’s facade on Hard Rock’s newest property, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City. The rebranded property is expected to open next summer.

Hard Rock investors Jack Morris and Joe Jingoli are spending about $500 million to renovate it. The company expects the project to generate more than 1,000 construction jobs and 3,000 permanent jobs.

”The gas station is just one of many exciting things to come,” said Liz Thomas, Jingoli and Morris spokeswoman. “We’re so pleased to partner with Hard Rock during this renaissance in Atlantic City that wouldn’t be happening without the cooperation and support of the state of New Jersey.”
