Esports Technologies is expanding with the addition of its third office, located in Malta, announced the esports wagering operator on Tuesday. The decision looks to target the Western Europe market, including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, and Ireland.
The provider of esports wagering products and technology said in a press release that the new Malta location will be a state-of-the-art office, housing the majority of the Esports Technologies team. It will direct European market operations, working closely with the Esports Technologies office in Dublin.
The additional office location will help accelerate the company’s aspirations to expand into Western Europe, and is scheduled to be operational on November 15. It joins the company’s existing locations in Las Vegas and Dublin.
The new office will have an open floor plan that includes breakout spaces for individual work or small-group collaboration, a full boardroom, and a modern design incorporating esports themes, describes a press release. It will also feature an esports-focused leisure area with gaming consoles, a full kitchen and bar, and direct access to Balluta Bay from the terrace.
"Europe's esports engagement is on a steep growth trajectory, and we foresee tremendous growth in its esports wagering market,” said Aaron Speach, CEO of Esports Technologies. “With its educated and talented workforce, strong tech infrastructure, and business-friendly environment, Malta offers the ideal location for us to create new opportunities across Europe.”
The company’s CEO further said the work setting is designed to foster “meaningful collaboration”, as well as increasing productivity and “spark creativity.” The move will help accelerate Esports Technologies’ growth strategy in Europe, which has an estimated sports audience of 92 million.
The wagering operator considers Malta as having emerged as an influential hub for esports on the continent. The country was chosen as the host location for both 2021 seasons of ESL Pro League, “one of the major professional leagues in esports.”
Being a multilingual country and a “hotbed for tech and blockchain,” Esports Technologies values Malta as having worked closely with the private sector to establish the nation as a global leader in the esports sector.
"Esports Technologies is a strong company with high growth ambitions and is a perfect match for our B2C brands,” said Tsachi Maimon, CEO of Aspire Global. “With Aspire Global's B2C brands, Esports Technologies gains leading, well-established brands, an excellent base for further growth, and a very talented team that contributed to the B2C's growth.”
