Further to the announcement on January 8, from the Nova Scotia provincial government that certain gaming establishments in areas of the Halifax Regional Municipality can reopen, Great Canadian Gaming Corporation reopened Casino Nova Scotia – Halifax at 12pm AST on Monday.
The property has reopened with a reduction in hours of operation, and it is offering slot machine play along with limited table games and food and beverage amenities, and with guest capacity of approximately 20% of the property's maximum facility capacity prior to its first closure on March 16, 2020.
The property was closed on November 26, as part of the Nova Scotia provincial government's efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the province.
With the reopening of Casino Nova Scotia – Halifax, the company will have three of its 26 operations open and operating.

- Casino Woodbine reopened on September 28 with a guest capacity of 50, with no table games or food and beverage amenities. It closed again on October 9.
- Elements Casino Mohawk reopened on September 28 with a guest capacity of 50, with no table games or food and beverage amenities. It closed again on November 15.
- Elements Casino Flamboro reopened on September 28 with a guest capacity of 50, with no table games or food and beverage amenities. It closed again on November 15.
- Casino Ajax reopened on September 28 with a guest capacity of 50, with no table games or food and beverage amenities. It closed again on November 22.
- Great Blue Heron Casino reopened on September 28 with a guest capacity of 50, no table games or food and beverage amenities. It closed again on November 22.
- Elements Casino Grand River reopened on September 28 with a guest capacity of 50, no table games or food and beverage amenities. It closed again on December 14.
- Elements Casino Brantford reopened on September 28 with a guest capacity of 50, no table games or food and beverage amenities. It closed again on December 20.
- Shorelines Casino Thousand Islands reopened on September 28 with a guest capacity of 50, no table games or food and beverage amenities. It closed again on December 24.
- Shorelines Slots at Kawartha Downs reopened on September 28 with a guest capacity of 50, no table games or food and beverage amenities. It closed again on December 24.
- Shorelines Casino Belleville reopened on September 28 with a guest capacity of 50, no table games or food and beverage amenities. It closed again on December 24.
- Shorelines Casino Peterborough reopened on September 28 with a guest capacity of 50, no table games or food and beverage amenities. It closed again on December 24.
Nova Scotia properties:
- Casino Nova Scotia Halifax reopened on October 5 with a guest capacity of approximately 20% pre-closure capacity, with limited table games and food and beverage amenities introduced on November 12. It closed again on 26 and has now reopened.
- Casino Nova Scotia Sydney reopened on October 5, with a guest capacity of approximately 20% of pre-closure capacity, with no table games and limited food and beverage amenities. It remains open.
