oxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut announced Wednesday it will reserve one of its gaming floors for patrons 55 and older, starting Friday.
The Rainmaker Casino, “safe, sanitized and socially distanced,” will be open exclusively for "grown-ups" from 10 a.m. to midnight on weekends in November. Foxwoods said in a news release that it is the first and only casino in the country to set aside gaming space for patrons 55 and older.
“The safety of our loyal patrons has been our number one priority since reopening on June 1, and we are excited to offer them this exclusive experience where they can relax and play in a safe, frequently sanitized environment,” Jason Guyot, Foxwoods’ Interim CEO & SVP of Resort Operations, said in a statement.
The casino will feature special entertainment in the Rainmaker Casino, including a disc jockey from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday nights and prize giveaways from noon to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
