Ukrainian Gaming Week 2020 organizers, Smile Expo, announced new dates for the event, moving the original schedule from April 15-16 to June 16-17.
The company explained in a news release last week that on March 11, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a course of limitation measures that shall be enacted due to the coronavirus epidemics, aiming to prevent the spread of the disease. On the same day, specialized committee of Kyiv municipal administration decided to introduce restrictive measures in the capital of the country.
According to the data of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine, as of March 11, 114,219 cases of infection has been registered across the world. Currently many countries have already taken restrictive and limiting measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Thus, Italy and Iran introduced the quarantine. Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Austria, USA and many other states imposed stricter rules for crossing the border.
“It still remains unknown whether the danger of a virus spread will disappear. Also, there’s no official generally established date of the quarantine ending period in Kyiv and in other regions of Ukraine. For this reason, in order to be on the safe side and ensure safety of all guests, participants, speakers, partners and sponsors of Ukrainian Gaming Week 2020, we are forced to shift the event to the later dates,” organizers said.
