n the year that marks a double celebration, the level of MGS Entertainment Show achieved a new record under the support of the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce and departments of the S.A.R. Government.
2019 MGS attracted nearly 20,000 professional visitors to a show area occupying about 20,000 square meters, intent business volume also achieved record high. This year’s professional buyers were mainly Macao's major integrated resorts. In its seven consecutive runs, the total sales volume of MGS has reached tens of billions.
The import promotion activity was highly recognised by the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce.
The activity “Technology Living Supplies Import Promotion” was held during 2019MGS, where companies including Tech (Macau) Limited and Nam Kwong (Portugal) Co., Ltd. conducted on-site promotional campaigns. This import promotion activity was high recognised by the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce. The Bureau believed it built on the 2019 MGS platform and played a positive role in promoting the international cooperation and exchange of the technology industry.
Focus on 5G Innovative Technology
2019MGS worked with local telecommunications operator the Macao Telecommunications Company (CTM). By focusing on 5G technology and the acceleration of the development of “Macau Digital 2.0”, new information technology elements have been injected into the Show to fully support the construction of Smart Macau. Visitors could look at 5G technical applications demos, or even experienced these innovative applications personally at the Experimental Hall. It created powerful impetus to the development of the industry, being an important step for innovation and technology. In addition, LT Game, a subsidiary of Paradise Entertainment Limited, also demonstrated 5G wireless communication technology, Internet of Things technology for live broadcasting in casinos, gaming terminal equipment and other new technologies.
Summit explored forward-looking topics
Government officials, experts, scholars and industry leaders were invited to the 2019MGS Summit that was held concurrently, while the latest information and experience were shared and the industry’s crucial issues were discussed. Exhibitors agreed that MGS has been an important platform of exchange, while the most updated information and cooperation opportunities were provided. Paulo Martins Chan, director of Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), delivered the opening speech on the first day of the Summit. Featuring the theme of “The Development of Guangdong-Hongkong-Macao Greater Bay Area Promotes the Development of Macao’s Diversified Ecomony”, Mr. Chan stated that the government will continue to promote the diversification of the local gaming industry and attract more mass market visitors. Topics of panel discussions on the second day were “Future Planning for the Japan IR Market” and “The Director and Development of Electronic Gaming Manufactures”, driving Macao to transfer from gaming tourism to leisure and entertainment tourism. ICBC (Macau) participated in discussions on the last day and provided insights on the diversification of local industries by tapping to topics of “how SMEs can integrate into the overall development of Macao” and “the development trend and impacts of financial technology”.
2019 Innovation and Creativity Award Ceremony and MGS Entertainment Show 2019 Welcome Dinner took place during the same period at JW Marriott Hotel Macau. Together with more than a thousand guests, Zhu Hong, Deputy Director-General of Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Liu Wei, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, Jin Hong Deputy Director General of Trade Development Bureau and other government leaders attended the Award Ceremony.
