Nevada gaming win exceeds USD 1B in March

The state reported almost $80 million in percentage fees based on last month figures, up 6.3% from a year ago. However, house winnings at Las Vegas Strip casinos dropped almost 4% in the year-to-year comparison.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported Thursday that casino "gaming win" statewide was $1.02 billion last month. The figure was relatively unchanged compared with the same month a year ago.

Las Vegas Strip casinos accounted for more than half the total, although house winnings there decreased by almost 4% in the year-to-year comparison, to about $552 million, 3 News Las Vegas reports.

Several other parts of Clark County and the South Lake Tahoe area each reported increases of 8% or more.

Casinos in Elko County posted the greatest percentage gain and the only double-digit gain in the state.

Wendover casinos won $20.5 million, up from $18.6 million in March 2018, an increase of 10.4 percent. Casinos in other parts of Elko County, including the city of Elko, won $9.4 million, an increase of 11.1 percent over last March’s $8.4 million.
