UZOHAPP, the partner for IDEAL outside of North America, successfully installed the IDEAL cashless POS solution at King’s Bastion Leisure Centre in Gibraltar in December 2018.
King’s Bastion is steeped in tradition. Originally built in the 18th century as a fortification against military attack, today it is one of Gibraltar’s premier leisure centres. Management places focus on innovation, always looking to the future.
“We had heard of the benefits that a cashless system can bring and were looking specifically for such a solution during a visit to a trade show in the UK last year. The IDEAL solution at the SUZOHAPP stand impressed us. We have been working with SUZOHAPP for years and have an excellent and trusting working relationship. IDEAL is the perfect cashless POS system for any Family Entertainment Centre (FEC). A customer purchases a card from the IDEAL Kiosk – the amount on the card can also be topped up using the Kiosk. At King’s Bastion, that means customers use the IDEAL card throughout the leisure centre – at the bowling alley, the gym, the cinema, restaurants and bars and on all the amusement machines in the arcade, as these are all equipped with the IDEAL card readers.
The IDEAL POS system has brought significant benefits as Mr. Azzopardi points out: “The first major benefit is that now we have complete accountability.This audit trail gives us exact financial data in real time. Furthermore, we are making important savings by eliminating cash handling. Up until recently we were counting coins literally every day. We no longer have to worry about the time and cost of handling cash. Another great benefit is that people coming over the border from Spain can purchase and top up their card in pound sterling easily by using their credit card. They no longer have to change their money from euros to pounds.”
Installing an IDEAL cashless POS system not only saves money: it can also increase revenue on a long-term basis. “Market feedback showed us that installing a cashless system can increase our revenue by up to 15% on a permanent basis. All these benefits convinced us to take this step and invest in IDEAL,” continues Mr. Azzopardi. “IDEAL is future-proof. We are already planning our next steps to make the most out of opportunities it offers us, including introducing a loyalty programme and enabling our customers to top up their cards online.
