Yogonet had the pleasure of interviewing Anna Shahbazyan, Regional Director Latam BetConstruct, who delved into the opportunities met at SAGSE 2018, the future for the iGaming and gambling segments in the region and how BetConstruct will address upcoming challenges.

an we have your final assessment of SAGSE 2018, in terms of visitors, new deals, networking and feedback? Have you met your expectations? 

As always SAGSE exceeded all our expectations. Being one of the largest gaming events in the region, the expo had great traffic. When it comes to our company, we had great networking events, and we are happy to welcome new partners who planned on joining us after the expo.

Which were the main topics visitors, exhibitors, operators and institutions were most interested in at your stand?

Our SpringBME stirred great interest among the newcomers of the gaming industry. They were impressed with the way into the gambling world that we provide.

Alpha Boot Camp by SiGMA and Malta Gaming Authority were the main novelties this year. Could you capitalize on their presence? 

Alpha Boot Camp led to greater focus on igaming. It was an outstanding opportunity not only for BetConstruct, but also for other European providers which presented their solutions tailored for the LatAm market during the event.

Which trends could you identify during the show that aim at the future in the region?

We can definitely see that the online betting business will get new legislation in some countries, as governments are interested in securing safe operations for both players and local operators who are interested in entering the business more than ever.

How could you describe your current presence in Latin America in general? How do you foresee it will evolve in the next years?

We are already the market leaders in LATAM, and we foresee that we will continue to grow in different countries like Brazil and Mexico. BetConstruct has tailored customer service in Spanish and Portuguese for its partners in Latin America.

One of your workshops will be taking place in Peru this month, what can you tell us in advance about that?

We believe people will be happily surprised by our Friendship Platform. We are looking to democratize streaming of sports to supplement the betting experience. We have already partnered with professional federations to provide their sports streams to our operator partners, and the outlook for this product is very promising as we have received great feedback from federations and leagues and operators, too.
How's your agenda for the next months? What other launches can we expect from BetConstruct in the short term?

We have many expos, that include G2E, but we will also have many workshops in different countries, and we will keep our visitors and attendees informed about our global touring.
