The company got to catch up with current customers like Jason Manning CEO from Pittwater RSL, Shelley Fletcher HR Manager and Dale Hunt CEO from Blacktown Workers Club, Jordan Harris GM of Hotel Plus and Terry Starr Marketing Manager at Campsie RSL to name a few. All of whom tell me how Expr3ss! has cut their recruitment friction, wastage and mistakes.

W

hat do you get when you put together 3 days of exhibition and over 8,600 delegates from some of the biggest clubs, hotels, and pubs in the country? Ample opportunity to chat with people about their recruitment challenges. No matter which industry I am talking with or what part of the country I am in - the challenges in recruitment are similar.

The conversations Expr3ss! had at the Australasian Gaming Expo 2018 reiterated the three main recruitment bugbears:
1) The sheer volume of CVs HR and hiring managers have to work through day after day, especially for high turnover - often casual – roles (like bar staff or customer service). CV reading is a problem for multiple reasons: one being that Risk Advisory found that 80% of resumes contain discrepancies. Plus, the fact that HR professionals waste a lot of their precious time sifting through these fictitious marketing documents. Read all about the Rise of Smart HR (and the problems associated with CV reading) here.

2) Job boards make it easier than ever to make the infamous 6-second job application. This sees the applicant simply using a spray and pray approach. Many were telling me of times they have had to remind an applicant of the details of the role because the applicant applied for so many he/she doesn't even recall them all.

3) The lack of having a go-to Talent Pool with pre-screened applicants that have already expressed interest in working at your organisation - removing the need to advertise roles at all (not to mention the fact that it accelerates your hiring process significantly).

The beauty of being at an event like the Australasian Gaming Expo, where Expr3ss! exhibited last week, is that I get to meet and hear from many new and interesting people, confirming the challenges I mention above.

The company also got to catch up with current customers like Jason Manning CEO from Pittwater RSL, Shelley Fletcher HR Manager and Dale Hunt CEO from Blacktown Workers Club, Jordan Harris GM of Hotel Plus and Terry Starr Marketing Manager at Campsie RSL to name a few.
