Chilean casinos produce USD 62 M in revenue
The 452.531 visits registered in the 18 non-municipal halls represent a 4 percent increase compared to June 2017.

The casino industry, comprised by 18 casinos authorized by Law No 19,995 and 7 casinos licensed by the municipal government produced in June a win (gross revenue) of USD 61,581. The accrued real growth is -0.7% during the last 12 months.

ccording to the last report released by the Casino Superintendency (SCJ), with respect to win (gross revenue), Sun Monticello is top of the list with 19.3% (USD 11.8 M), followed by Casino Viña del Mar (11.3%), then Marina del Sol Talcahuano (8.8%), Casino Rinconada (8,5%), Coquimbo (6%) and Enjoy Antofagasta (5,7%).

As regards the gross revenue produced by the industry as a whole, the casinos operating authorized by Law 19.995 reached a win of USD 44.3 M, 72% of the total. This represents a real percentage increase of 0.6% compared to June 2017. The regulated industry achieved an accrued real growth of -0.1% during the last 12 months.

The 452,531 visits recorded in the 18 rooms entail a 4% increase compared to June 2017 and an accumulated growth of -1.1% during the last 12 months. With respect to visitors’ spending, during June, there was an average expenditure of $ 62,808 per visit, which implies a real decrease of -3.3% compared to June 2017, reaching an accrued real expenditure growth of 1% in the last 12 months.

The amount wagered in June in the 10,374 slot machines that were in operation in the 18 regulated casinos, was of $ 366,491 million. The prizes paid to the players reached $ 343,348 million, equivalent to 93.7% of the total wagered and as a result, the total win or gross revenue of gambling machines was $ 23,143 million, equivalent to 81.4% of the total gross revenue.

Municipal casinos obtained a total of $ 11,052 million win, which represents 28% of the industry’s total. This figure implies a real month decrease of -1.8%, compared to June 2017 and an accumulated real growth of -1.7% in the last 12 months.

Regarding the visits, the casinos licensed by the municipal license (with the exception of Puerto Varas, which does not have the information) recorded a total of 183,499 visits.
