In an exclusive interview with, Konami's Vice President of International Gaming Operations Eduardo Aching provided insight into the company's experience at this year's edition of Peru Gaming Show —taking place June 20-21—, whose innovations are being showcased at Booth #43.


ould you provide further insight into Smash Smash Festival, Star Watch and the other products you have exhibited at Peru Gaming Show?

Smash Smash Festival and Star Watch are great examples of Konami’s latest top bonus game developments. Both are arriving to the 2018 Peru Gaming Show with original bonus mechanics and unique gameplay experiences that have demonstrated performance across international markets. Smash Smash Festival is a linked progressive for Concerto upright and Slant that gives players the chance at an increasing prize pool of mystery piñata awards. On Concerto Crescent, Konami’s new Star Watch series invites players to activate an increasing Strike Zone area of the reel frame for special bonus events at higher bet levels.

Other key highlights for PGS 2018 include Lucky O’Leary Jackpots with a symbol-driven progressive jackpot, classic Quick Strike mystery-trigger progressive, Cai Lai Si Ji standalone progressive series, and another original Strike Zone series that includes Celestial Sun Riches and Celestial Moon Riches. These games are focused on creative entertainment, player-favorite features, and exceptional quality, which will be reinforced throughout Konami’s 2018 PGS presentation with Pacific Gaming.

What is Konami and Pacific Gaming's assessment of your performance in the Peruvian market so far this year?

Even though it is a competitive market, Konami’s latest products are gaining record growth across the region. Our vision is to support local operators with exceptional results for their business and exceed the expectations of our customers. Pacific Gaming is very important in providing that key support and consultation to local markets. They are much like an extension of our Konami team.

Could you mention the strategies you are implementing to outperform competitors and increase your market share in Latin America?

Konami’s 2018 strategy in the region is aimed at delivering a strong library of original titles with proven math and mechanics. The depth and quality of the latest available game content from Concerto Slant to Crescent is about giving casino operators a leading mix of high-performing slot themes and bonus games to power their floor. Working alongside Pacific Gaming, we maintain a focus on strong game content and long-term service, which ultimately has the greatest outcome for all involved.

Could you mention some industry trends that have had an impact on casinos this 2018?

Industry trends toward portrait screens, large screens, and curved screens continue to perform at a premium, to the point of becoming must-have slot product for Peruvian casinos today. Unique bonus features and progressive jackpot opportunities also carry high appeal for today’s core player base.
