“Lottery play is a paradox with luck obviously playing a huge part and if you keep losing you’ll eventually walk away. At 7StarBall, if you have a group of five friends then statistically, over a period of time, one should earn a winning ticket each week. Regular cash prizes are at stake and this keeps hopes high of landing the big one – the One Billion Euro jackpot, " Gouloud Hammoud, Director of 7StarBall, said.

The brand new lottery provider, launched on December 17 with the aim of bringing a social element to online play and at what the company claims is "a timely release, in a market where more players are considering their options outside of national and state lotteries where, in certain cases, rule changes have made it tougher to win a prize of any kind."

And the Curaçao-based 7StarBall will attempt to avoid this by "providing a balanced mix of regular payouts alongside substantial jackpots."

Gouloud Hammoud, Director of 7StarBall said: “We felt that it was important to provide those two key elements that every lottery player looks for. We all want to dream of a big win but if players aren’t picking up smaller cash wins on a regular basis then eventually they will lose interest.

Two draws are made each week and these will take place every Thursday and Sunday at 10.00 AM EST. The first of those draws features a jackpot of up to One Billion Euros while the second is a Pari-Mutuel version where one in five tickets is guaranteed to be a winner of any cash payout. 7StarBall’s website also features a tutorial and there is a practise game available where registered account holders can trial the draw before they commit to spending their own funds.

While Pari-Mutuel is not a new concept, it may be unfamiliar to some so this is a useful tool for those looking to get on board. It’s also the system that helps to guarantee those 1 in 5 winning tickets and this is where the operator believes the fairer balance will encourage sign ups and bring a social element to their platform.

“With 7StarBall, every fifth ticket is a winner and over time, players should therefore pick up more cash prizes than they would with some national and state lotteries. It’s a fairer system and one that we hope will see us retain more ongoing customers,” says Hammoud. "Engagement and a social focus are at the heart of our philosophy.”

“Lottery play is a paradox with luck obviously playing a huge part and if you keep losing you’ll eventually walk away. At 7StarBall, if you have a group of five friends then statistically, over a period of time, one should earn a winning ticket each week. Regular cash prizes are at stake and this keeps hopes high of landing the big one – the One Billion Euro jackpot," concluded Hammoud.

7StarBall is not currently available in the UK but is open for business across mainland Europe and beyond. Details of the progressive prize fund will be shown in the countdown to the weekly draw.
