hat are your expectations for SAGSE Buenos Aires 2017?
The SAGSE trade show in Buenos Aires continues to build momentum after the significant reduction a few of years ago that forced many suppliers including NOVOMATIC to temporarily withdraw due to the importation restrictions. Last year, we returned to a bustling show floor as SAGSE show edits strength as the major gaming exhibition in Argentina that attracts operators and executives from around the country and surrounding regions. We have high expectations this year will be even better and provide us with a great opportunity to reveal some of our latest products for the market. We have expanded in Argentina over the last 12 months and look forward to presenting some of our product lines that premiered at the recent G2E in Las Vegas including new content for the Americas.
What products will you bring to the show this year?
Due to the overwhelming interest for From Dusk Till Dawn since its launch at G2E, this exciting new slot title will be showcased at SAGSE on the V.I.P. Lounge. Available with adjustable jackpots and a raft of bonuses, this game has already been very well received and we are optimistic the appeal of the movie, its characters, as well as the interactive game content, will make a huge impression on casino floors. The DOMINATOR, DOMINATOR Curve, GAMINATOR Scorpion and IMPERATOR cabinets are returning to the show – NOVO LINE Interactive Concurve Edition 3 will be presented for the first time in Argentina with popular titles such as Asian Fortunes and Book of Ra XPAND, as well as great new content on theImpera Line HD Edition 5 and Superia Games Premium Mix.
Otium will make its debut at SAGSE with market-attuned video bingo games such as El Pesero, Bingo Copacabana and Bingo de losCielos on the OT100 cabinet. Octavian will also demonstrate the advanced accounting, player tracking and loyalty modules of the MyACP casino management system, as well as its WAP jackpot solutions. Also popular in Argentina is PINBALL ROULETTE – the unique gaming device that allows players to shoot the ball onto the roulette wheel – that will be on display.
How would you describe the state of the industry in Latin America?
Each country in Latin America has its own tendencies but the industry, in general, is well-regulated, strong and still growing. NOVOMATIC continues to expand its market share and personnel, and we service the region from our offices in Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Panama, Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, as well as Argentina. We see a lot of growth potential throughout the region and as our company grows globally, we are developing new product lines tailored to the needs of the different markets.
What are your key areas of focus to ensure business growth in the Americas? What are your goals for next year?
We have been able to grow in the Americas by listening and responding to our customers as well as market needs. Our R&D capabilities are evolving and we currently have 27 development centres and 14 production facilities around the worldthat produce technologically leading innovations specific to the various markets. We are pursuing international growth outside our core European markets and development for the Americas and Asia, in particular, is a key area of focus. With the wide range of companies part of the NOVOMATIC Group, we are able to enter markets with a complete Omni-channel offering that provides a fully integrated product solution. Next year, key areas of growth include sports betting and online, while continuing to release more market-first gaming products.
Is Novomatic planning to invest in Brazil if the legislation of gaming is approved?
Brazil is one of the widely recognized untapped markets with a huge potential, and we are watching very closely how the legislation develops. As gaming has been outlawed for many years, we’ve had no direct relation to the country, however, we have a good understanding of player preferences and would be ready to enter the regulated market with a range of products dependent on the legislation. There is a strong tendency to bingo in Brazil and our subsidiary Otium is building a global appeal with its leading video bingo products. However, if the legislation is approved, we would still need to ensure that proper regulation and a stable environment is in place before investing.
