Spain's online gambling market sees strong growth

The national gambling regulator Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) announced year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter revenue growth.

For the three months to September 30, the sector generated €140.5m ($163.6m), up 37.3% on last year.

Sports betting revenue climbed 37% year-on-year to just under €77m, while online casino revenue also soared by 54.2% to €43.9m in the quarter.

Slots continue to be the main source of revenue for the online gaming sector, accounting for 50.9% €22.3m) of Spain’s overall casino revenue figure, with live roulette in second with €9.1m.

Online poker revenue came in at €14.7m, up 6.8% on last year.

In addition, bingo revenue jumped by 30.5% year-on-year to €2.9m.
