After the Queensland Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk, decided to dismissed the casino project to be built at Southport Spit, the company said its weighing its options.

“We feel we have been misled in this political game of hide and deceive,” director of the ASF Group Louis Chien said. “This government has backflipped in glorious fashion through self-interest. All the government promises of jobs and investment ring hollow.

Chien said that their plan includes legal action against Queensland's asministration.

Last week, local authorities announced that they have decided to preserve the parkland area for future generations and avoid transport issues related to the development of the integrated resort.

This decision is a major turn of events after the crown land site was initially proposed and set aside by the Palaszczuk government for ASF Consortium. However, Palaszczuk said the casino license would remain on the Gold Coast but no integrated resort would be allowed on The Spit.
