ow was your experience at the Peru Gaming Show 2017?

BMM was very pleased to exhibit at PGS 2017 as this is one of the most important shows in the region. The event provides a forum for attendees to exchange opinions on all aspects of the gaming industry, which is particularly important given the rapid growth of gaming in South America.

What are Peruvian operators and manufacturers most concerned about these days? And what about the gaming authority?

Current concerns in the Peruvian market are regulatory updates for new products that are appearing on the market. This concern also comes from operators and manufacturers that are interested in the pending inclusion in the regulation of non-traditional gaming platforms, such as online games, virtual games, sports betting, etc. Although, there are concerns, this is also a sign of a will to progress and continue to be a market of reference in the region.

What makes Peru a thriving market for sports betting?

BMM believes that the operation of online sports betting will be successful in Peru as long as it’s within a suitable legal framework.

There already is a public acceptance of these types of games in the country and businesses are eager to enter the market. Once it’s regulated, players will be more confident to participate too.

What’s next on BMM’s agenda?

BMM has an active presence in all the regulated markets in Latin America and the agenda is to continue strengthening ties with regulators and manufacturers. We are growing our testing and certification revenue at record rates again in South and North America and are deeply committed to being the number one gaming lab in the region. We are also consulting and providing technical advice to new manufacturers, gaming and platform providers and to all jurisdictions in the process of regulation. We are excited about the progress being made in countries like Peru, Panama, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and remain hopeful about new markets that we are actively monitoring such as Brazil.
