ow do you assess the Peruvian Gaming Show 2017?
This year’s PGS was one of the most exceptional shows in Konami’s history at the event. Industry attendance was strong and the amount of interest we observed for the latest games was truly outstanding.
Representatives from your distributors, Pacific Gaming and Atlantic Ventures, were present at the trade show. How would you describe your work with them?
Pacific Gaming and Atlantic Ventures provide key support and consultation to local markets and they are an extension of our Konami team in the region. Their customer dedication and product knowledge are of the highest standard.
What feedback did you receive from attendees?
This year Konami showcased its new Concerto SeleXion, which is based on proven multi-game technology from the original Podium SeleXion but with a modern delivery on our latest upright and slant cabinets. As with any new slot cabinet, casino properties want to make sure the machine is supported by agrowing game theme library. At Peru Gaming Show we demonstrated the strong variety and game volume of Konami’s new KP3+ game library, with diverse titles that balance the need to pioneer new mechanics while continuing the success of well-known features that players have long enjoyed.
Our casino customers were pleased to see promising new titles including Sparkling Roses 15-reel and Xtra Reward games such as Golden Wolves, as well as Konami’s classic Quick Strike standalone progressive. Also, Concerto SeleXion is compatible with most any KP3 platform game, including popular releases like Dragon’s Law, China Shores, Lotus Land. So there are truly hundreds of available games and thousands of possible multi-game combinations with Concerto SeleXion.
What can you tell us about the cross-licensing agreement with IGT?
It’s part of an effort by both companies toward sharing access to a group of patents, and that will result in new product opportunities that will benefit both casinos and their patrons.
What big news can we expect from Konami over the nex months?
I would encourage you to keep an eye out for our new single-screen Concerto cabinets, the 43” tall Concerto Stack and curved Concerto Crescent. These are just now arriving to the first international locations, with very strong reception. Our leading R&D team is really taking this tall screen format to the next level in ways that have never done, with strong long-term value potential for operators. It’s definitely something we’ll be demonstrating during G2E Las Vegas this fall.
