espite the uncertainty surrounding this year's edition of FADJA and the rumors of a possible cancellation, show organizers have confirmed the event will return once again to the Colombian capital. What does a trade show like FADJA offer to your company apart from market visibility and networking opportunities and why have you decided to take part this year?
All the rumors came from the venue place, which cancelled the facility, so organizers had to look for a different facility to do the show. FADJA is a very important show for all Latin American markets, and that's why we've decided to be present over the last years. We've seen a positive response from our long-standing and new customers who were able to discover all the new products our company releases year by year. Of course, every trade show represents an opportunity to showcase our novelties and demonstrate both our evolution and amazing performance, so FADJA will be no exception.
Looking back, how do you evaluate the progress of your business operations in the country and what are the remaining challenges?
In the past 4 years, we've established a major presence in the South American country. The Alfastreet brand is experiencing great progress, growing bigger and better year after year. At the moment, we're enjoying a leading position in the Colombian market with our immediate challenge being to further consolidate our business in the country. For Alfastreet, commitment to excellence and quality are above all.
Why do you believe Colombia is one of the best-performing countries in the region, in terms of gambling growth? How can neighbouring countries be encouraged by the efforts carried out by regulator Coljuegos and adopt a similar approach towards our industry?
Undoubtedly, political stability in the country is a key factor for the industry, where there's a regulated law for any business, with legal warranties from government policy, there will always be more investors willing to get involved. The growth of gambling in Colombia can be attributed to its economic and political stability, together with good regulations and laws. Still missing is stronger pressure on some non-legal establishments, but in general terms, the overall industry is showing some good results.
Neighboring countries could take as model some of the successful regulations implemented in countries where gambling is regulated. However, not every government -specially left-wing ones-, are eager to regulate the gambling industry, so every country is a different story.
Just recently at ICE, the company debuted all of its groundbreaking novelties for the international gambling market. But what do you have in store for the Colombian audience? How are you planning to captivate South American casino operators and players alike?
For every show we try to bring together our latest innovations. This year, Alfastreet will display its new Multitouch roulette which has had an excellent feedback from ICE attendees in February, Also, we will feature the new Lucky 8, a compact Roulette in a different style then the famous R8, and the recently released Felix slot machine which will mark the beginning of a new era for Alfastreet in Colombia.
