AGSE organizers reported that JCM’s training doubled last year's call: more than 160 technicians attended. What balance do you do? What factors do you consider to have affected the increased attendance?
At JCM, we firmly believe service technicians are critical stakeholders in our business. That is why we have invested and continue to invest in education and the opportunity to listen to the people who maintain our equipment. We are fortunate that each of our training seminars across Latin America has received outstanding feedback from attendees and from our casino operator customers.
Over the past two years, we have conducted several tech trainings across Latin America, and in each case, the attendance has been a sellout. Attendees tell us the training is a valuable part of their daily job function because they are able to learn from the experts as to how to keep equipment running at maximum capacity and to prevent problems from occurring. Another important factor is we keep the training very focused. While JCM’s portfolio is very broad, we focus these trainings on core products, so during SAGSE, attendees learned technical details about the UBA and iVIZION bill validators and the GEN2 U printer. We also covered important topics such as software updates and the critical role they play in security.
JCM was silver sponsor of SAGSE. What have been the positive aspects of the fair and what factors remain to be improved?
We view SAGSE Buenos Aires as a premiere event in the global gaming industry’s tradeshow circuit
We always look forward to this show, as it provides us with an excellent opportunity to meet with existing customers and to introduce ourselves to potential new customers as well. We value customer feedback, so shows like SAGSE allow us to meet face-to-face with existing customers and listen to their insights regarding how peripheral components impact their business. We take that input seriously and convey it back to our development teams, and our portfolio has many examples of improvements that have come from discussions such as these.
Which JCM products were best marketed in Argentina this year?
We experienced a great deal of success in Argentina and across Latin America with the iVIZION bill validator, which continues to lead in speed and security and is field-proven in jurisdictions worldwide. We also had good success with the GEN 2 U printer, and the legacy UBA bill validator. At SAGSE, we were excited to exhibit new products from our extensive portfolio, including the DBV-500 bill validator, which provides the highest levels counterfeit protection and is built with a thick metal frame and housing and has cash box capacity options of 500/1000/1500 notes. Also new is the GEN5 printer, which is fully compatible to work with existing platforms and has a faster CPU, faster print speed, and is flexible enough to print TITO and promotional tickets, plus various wager tickets and templated promo coupons. We also exhibited PromoNet 2.0, which was created to deliver the right promotion to the right customer at the right time, to both carded and uncarded players, and it takes advantage of GEN5’s printing capabilities.
At SAGSE, did JCM introduce the new FUZION technology they launched in Las Vegas? What is the marketing potential of this product in Latin America?
We are very excited about the FUZION technology. As you mention, we introduced FUZION at G2E 2016, and attendees there and at SAGSE instantly realized that it is a truly game-changing technology. FUZION is a collaborative technology and seamlessly works with suppliers’ casino management systems. The FUZION technology is transformative, bringing previously unimagined potential, flexibility and profitability to the casino floor. It FUZION works together with the iVIZION bill validator, our new GEN5 printer, and the casino’s existing casino management system (CMS), and this combination has the potential to unleash many game-changing features. With FUZION, each slot machine could become a multi-line profit center with the current potential to:
Vend and redeem lottery tickets
Vend and redeem race & sports betting
Facilitate Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) wagering, the casino’s own or a 3rd party’s
Conduct cross-enterprise promotional couponing for carded and uncarded players
Enable real-time currency exchange with exchange rates that could be preset or could be real-time
Streamline tax forms processes
FUZION also includes mobile technology that allows smartphone transactional interface on legacy machines without picture-in-picture by enabling the player to connect with the game via smartphone through JCM’s Intelligent Bezel. This technology expands the FUZION potential to all types of slot machines.
The potential for FUZION in Latin America and in jurisdictions worldwide is practically unlimited.
