as Vegas Sands Corp’s (LVS) Parisian Macao will finally open its doors to the public on September 13 and Sands China, a subsidiary of the LVS has planned a number of exciting events for the grand opening.

The opening night will see a special pyrotechnic and light show take place at the replica Eiffel Tower, which is half the size of the original Eiffel Tower, making it the biggest replica in the world. Sands China is also running a number of special promotions exclusively for the local population as a token of appreciation for their support. Residents will have to show a valid Macau identity card in order to avail these offers. These special offers are being offered under a promotion called ‘Parisian Loves Locals’ and will run from September 14 to September 29.

Some of the offers under this promotion include a discount of 25 percent at over 50 restaurants and cafes under the Sands China brand, a 20 percent discount on Cotai Water jet ferry services, a 30 percent discount on the Best Flexible Rates available at all properties, except the Four Seasons Macau where a 20 percent discount is the max and 20 percent discounts on tickets to the Thriller Live show – which celebrates the life and music of the king of pop – Michael Jackson.

“To express our commitment and gratitude to the Macau community during this time of celebration, we are pleased to extend the celebration to two full weeks. Under the umbrella of the ‘Parisian Loves Locals’ campaign, a series of special offers across all Sands China properties have been designed for Macau local residents to encourage them to join the celebration,” Wilfred Wong, COO and president of Sands China said is a statement.

The Parisian Macao resort will open with a gaming floor that covers 135,000 square feet and 410 gaming tables – 100 new to market tables approved by Macau regulators and the remaining transferred from other Sands China properties

There is also a convention center that covers over 55,000 square feet along with a theater that can seat up to 1,200 people, a special Parisian shopping mall covering 320,000 square feet, a water theme park and a hotel that has 3,000 luxury rooms and suites. The Parisian facility also has seven high-end restaurants that serve up a wide range of cuisines including French, Chinese and Cantonese, a health club, spa and the special Eiffel tower replica.

One of the unique features of this $3 billion luxury casino resort is that it is very environmentally conscious and all of the lighting used to light up the replica Eiffel Tower is LED lighting. The resort has also made use of low-flow water fixtures that is expected to cut down the resort’s water usage by over 40 percent when compared to other older facilities. The resort is looking at getting a LEED certification and should it be successful, it will become the first property in Macau to receive a full property certification. The Parisian will face stiff competition from the nearby Wynn Palace and the MGM Cotai which is yet to open.
