ollowing up on encouraging results in many previous quarters, Interwetten has reported strong performance indicators for the second quarter 2016.
In the context of 20% games played less during Euro2016 as compared to the WC 2014 (WC2014: 64 games, Euro2016: 51 games) these figures are even more impressive. Compared to last year sportsbook revenues in June 2016 have been up 93% and revenues from casino and games 40%.
Werner Becher, Spokesman for the Interwetten Board of Directors, announced that in the first half of 2016 also EBITDA is up 13% to €6.7 million, whereas Net-Profit (EAT) increased also by 13% to €5.7 million.
“I’m very happy and proud that our strategy of sustainable growth works so well. Having increased our marketing spend before and during Euro2016, we managed to increase our profits at the same time. For anyone managing a company, there is no better proof of strategic success in terms of team and product performance,” Becher said.
Sales keep being driven by all mobile channels contributing 63% to sportsbook revenues and 46% to gaming revenues in June 2016. Launching the new live score app “Interwetten LIVE” with thousands of downloads as yet will further push Interwetten’s mobile business.
In the last few months Interwetten further expanded its casino offering on desktop as well as on its mobile platforms and apps. Yggdrasil, Pragmatic Play, Elk Studios, Playson and Quickspin have been integrated as additional providers. Currently Interwetten offers its customers more than 800 games on desktop and 400 mobile games.
