Paradise City integrated resort would open in South Korea in April 2017

Paradise Co has announced in a recent construction update that the first phase of its sprawling Paradise City integrated resort in Incheon, near South Korea’s capital Seoul, is scheduled to open in April 2017.

The 330,000 m2 casino and entertainment complex is being developed at the International Business Center of Incheon International Airport.

Boasting a five-star hotel, shopping malls, restaurants, multi-purpose halls and the country’s biggest casino, Paradise City will be the first integrated resort in Korea. Developed between South Korean casino operator Paradise Group and Japanese pachinko firm Sega Sammy, the project is being developed in two stages and has an estimated price tag of US$1.7bn.

The first phase of Paradise City, which broke ground in November 2014, will include a foreigner-only casino with 350 slot machines, 378 electronic table games and 160 live tables, as well as hotel and convention facilities. Once complete, work will start on the second phase that plans to include another hotel and spa, in addition to dedicated indoor and outdoor culture and entertainment amenities.

 

The facility aims to attract international tourists and serve as the gateway for foreign travellers seeking a unique resort, entertainment and cultural experience

 

“Paradise City, Korea’s first large-scale comprehensive tourism resort scheduled to open in 2017, will be a milestone in the tourism industry of Korea,” expressed Phil-Lip Chun, Paraside Group Chairman. “Paradise will differentiate from new foreign players with‘Korean-ness’, the main content Paradise will be showing to our guests will be Korean culture such as K-pop and other entertainment content.”

Located at the International Business Center of South Korea’s largest airport, which is one of the largest and busiest airports in the world and has been voted the best airport worldwide every year since for over a decade by Airport Council International, the facility aims to attract international tourists and serve as the gateway for foreign travellers seeking a unique resort, entertainment and cultural experience.

“We will build a luxurious resort where foreign visitors can experience Korean culture while staying here,” added Choi Jong-hwan, Sega Sammy President. “Through this project, we will try hard to upgrade the domestic casino industry and make Paradise City one of the major tourist attractions in Korea.”
