ow was the 2016 edition of SAGSE Central America & Caribbean for JCM?
SAGSE was a good show for JCM. On the tradeshow floor, we connected with current and new customers, and we showcased our portfolio of award-winning products, including iVIZION and UBA bill validators and the GEN2 Universal printer. Off the show floor, we were excited to host more than 50 slot techs from across the region for a technical training on our core products. We have conducted several of these types of trainings throughout Latin America over the past two years and have several more scheduled for 2016. The response from the techs and from our operator and supplier clients has been positive, and we are happy to provide this essential service.
"The quality of attendees at SAGSE Panama 2016 was excellent, which made for a positive business environment, and we met our expectations for doing business at the show"
Reviewing the last year of the Panamanian industry, what would highlight as positive and negative? As for the negative, how it could reverse this year?
The quality of attendees at the show was excellent, which made for a positive business environment, and we met our expectations for doing business at the show. Of course, Panama is a market that is growing year by year, and we are optimistic for the industry there.
The company provided a training on their products UBA, iVIZION and GEN2U. So they have this year SAGSE One FADJA and Paraguay. What highlights of this type of technical seminars? Do they fare more effective than exhibitions are complementary events?
We have been fortunate with the tremendous turnout at our training events. In some cases we have had more than 300 people attend! These types of trainings are very helpful to our customers, because they arm slot techs with vital information and technical abilities to maintain maximum uptime on a variety of JCM equipment. We are pleased to announce we will have additional trainings throughout Latin America, scheduled for the following dates:
Rosario Santa Fe Argentina, May 31
Peru Gaming Show, June 14
SAGSE ONE Costa Rica, July 26
SAGSE ONE Dominican Republic, August 2
SAGSE ONE Chile, August 24
SAGSE Buenos Aires, November 15
As to your question of effectiveness, we don’t view them as being any more or less effective than a tradeshow appearance, because they are really two different things. On the tradeshow floor, people get to know what our products do; at the training, people get to know how our products do what they do. We hold the trainings in conjunction with tradeshows simply because our customer feedback tells us this type of scheduling is convenient for them.
During the first edition of Juegos Miami will feature the “JCM Global LatAm Golf Classic.” What is the importance of such tournaments as part of a business event? What are your expectations?
We are excited to be producing the inaugural LatAm Golf Classic. This fun, new tournament takes place at the Biltmore Hotel and Golf Course on June 3, the Friday immediately following Juegos Miami. As you may know, we have produced the AGEM/AGA Golf Classic in Las Vegas for the past 17 years, and now we are taking all the fun of that annual event and spicing it up with a distinctive Caribbean flair fitting for Juegos Miami. Both tournaments are charity fundraisers: The AGEM/AGA Golf Classic supports the research of the National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG) and the LatAm Golf Classic supports St. Jude Children’s Reseach Hospital. JCM views these types of tournaments as an important part of business, because we believe it is important to give back, to do good while you’re doing well.
