South Korean casino operator Paradise Co has reported sales of USD 48.4M for April, which represents a 9.4% increase year-on-year, although the figure for the first four months of 2016 is 2.9% lower than for the same period last year.

South Korean casino operator Paradise Co has reported sales of USD 48.4M for April, which represents a 9.4% increase year-on-year, although the figure for the first four months of 2016 is 2.9% lower than for the same period last year.

Paradise Co operates the foreigner-only Walker Hill and Jeju Grand casinos as well as venues in Incheon and Busan. among others and also stated in an official filing with the Korea Stock Exchange that sales had gained 28.3% when compared with March.

The firm revealed that April table game sales had risen by 10.9% year-on-year and 28.8% when compared with March with machine sales up 10.3%, but down 20.8% respectively. It additionally declared that table game drop for the month came in at $356.4 million, which corresponded to a 2.4% rise from March but a 5.1% decrease from a year ago.

South Korea’s foreigner-only casinos have been suffering from a drop in tourist numbers following last year’s outbreak of Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome alongside China’s crackdown on marketing to VIP mainland clients.
