hat products did you decide to present to the Colombian market at FADJA this year?
Undoubtedly, the star of the show was our 88 Fortunes, a product that has already proved successful in the Latin American region. As an addition to this, we decided to bring our TwinStar and Dualos cabinets which were the two big novelties at this year's FADJA. The TwinStar cabinet delivers WMS and Bally titles, whereas our brand new Dualos cabinet offers innovative mathematics and exciting games developed in Australia.
"Operators are demanding lower-cost alternatives, and that's exactly what our Dualos cabinet offers: high-end technology at a competitive price"
What are Colombian operators looking for these days?
The international economic landscape is changing. The Colombian market has particularly suffered over the past year due to currency devaluation, and the economic market changes have affected our industy. The strategy for the year ahead -for both Colombia and Peru- is to position the Dualos cabinet at the core of the market. Operators are demanding lower-cost alternatives, and that's exactly what Dualos offers: high-end technology at a competitive price.
"Everything seems to indicate that the Argentinian gaming market will bounce back"
You were recently appointed as Sales Director for South America. What are the main challenges facing the role? What are your growth projections for the region?
I took on this role with bags of enthusiasm. To lead a team like this represents a huge responsibility for me, and I hope to live up to the expectations.
Regarding the challenges ahead, if we look at the big picture, the million-dollar question is: What will happen in Argentina after government changes? Everything seems to indicate that the Argentinian gaming market will bounce back. Another growing market in the region is the Chilean, which is moving at a steady pace. As for other more mature and stable markets such as Colombia and Peru, the focus will be on continuing to offer the best products and services to our trusted customers while increasing our footprint.
Our company strives to serve each and every market in the best way.
Are you planning on launching new products specifically designed for Latin America?
We don't design games based on local themes. What we do is to adapt our portfolio and adjust the mathematics of the machines to the needs of each market. Both in Peru and Colombia, the gaming markets are very local-focused, whereas in other countries of the region players prefer different types of games. We offer customers our international products and services while helping them meet the local demands.
What are your expectations towards the gaming market in Argentina?
Both gaming manufacturers and operators are anxiously waiting to see what happens in the short-term. It's not just about the end of restrictions on imports. Factors such as inflation, currency devaluation, and political decisions related to the regulation of the industry will determine the future of the market. Having offices in the country, we see a tremendous potential for growth in Argentina, so we hope this new phase allows us to continue to be the preferred choice amongst operators.
