A new casino is ready to open in the state of Sikkim, India, in the next two or three months, according to Glaw.in.

As reported by Glaw.in., Delta Corp, the largest and only publicly traded gaming and hospitality company in India, has joined forces with Hotel WelcomHeritage Denzong Regency in the Gangtok area for the new venture project.

Sources noted that the hotel has received a license to operate a live casino under the Sikkim casinos Control & Tax Act, 2002. Under its partnership with Delta Corp, the gaming space in the hotel will be leased to the Indian gaming company, which will be accountable for the daily operations and management of the new gambling facility.

Although no announcement has yet been made, it is believed that further details about operations and commencement of the project will come over the next few days.

The new casino joins Sikkim's two existing facilities: Casino Mahjong in the Mayfair resort and Casino Sikkim in Hotel Royal Plaza.

Last month, Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar stated the government has yet to decide on the fate of state’s offshore casinos, stating: “As of now, we have not been able to scout for a suitable location.”
