nd because games are purchased and redeemed at retail, online gambling legislation is not required.
“The Fantasy Sports industry is exploding around the world right now and lotteries don’t want to find themselves in the same position they did when online poker took off. We need a seat at the table fast.” said Adam Caughill, Director, New Business Development from Ontario Lottery.
Customers purchase FrontRow tickets from their local lottery retailer. They scan the code on the ticket using their FrontRow app, and can pick from a variety of sports and games. Once the customer picks their contest, they then select their favourite teams, and the app automatically assigns a roster based on their choices.
When the big game starts, customers can follow the progress on their mobile device in real time. If the customer wins, they take their ticket back into retail to redeem their winnings.
“FrontRow is designed for lotteries to capitalize on a huge gap in Fantasy Sports currently. The game is designed for the casual sports fan, not the sharks. Simply pick your favourite teams and receive players to cheer for based on your selections. And because rosters are assigned automatically, all customers have the same odds of winning, not just the sharks. No extensive research required, no friction, just fun,” said Jay Aird, co-founder and CIO with Karma Gaming.
“FrontRow offers lotteries an exciting opportunity to incorporate deeper customer learning into the retail channel for the first time. Lotteries will benefit from the FrontRow analytics dashboard which provides real-time sales updates, engagement rates as well as additional insights,” said Paul LeBlanc, co-founder and CEO with Karma Gaming.
For lotteries already online, FrontRow can also be extended for online purchase and redemption.
