eveloping its themes into the wider leisure mix, MGS has broadened and rebranded its three-day conference to reflect the new directions for the gaming industry. This year's international conference at MGS will be titled: The Macao Tourism and Culture Summit 2015 at the Macao Gaming Show.
Featuring more than 15 sessions, The Macao Tourism and Culture Summit 2015 at the Macao Gaming Show will pose a direct challenge to its speakers and delegates alike: ‘New rules, new vision, new opportunities: How is Macau planning to channel gaming to power a new entertainment mix for tourism and culture?’
The Summit will explore the Macao Vision and its key challenge of ‘Driving tourism and a new cultural mix’. It will draw on the expertise of officials from the Macau SAR Government, the leading figureheads in Asian gaming, the major corporations not just from Macao and the Asia Pacific region, but most importantly, international luminaries and influencers that will play a pivotal role in the region's growth and development.
A key focus throughout the Summit will be the trans-continental opportunities of the Chinese government’s One Belt One Road (OBOR) investment program, which for delegates at MGS, delivers a first time chance to explore a radical cultural shift to bring gaming into Asia’s wider economic mix.
Announcing the rebranded and widened remit for the Summit, Fatima Maria Nunes, Secretary of the influential MGEMA - the body behind the conference, explained: “Macau and the Asia Pacific region is one of the most significant - and dynamic - markets in the world. Any business wanting to trade here will need to understand the local vision, explore the opportunities for growth and development, and most importantly, witness for themselves the extent of investment and commitment being made towards the infrastructure from Macau and all the way around the Silk Road trading area.
“November’s Summit is the one-stop forum to glean all this information and process the key factors that could determine the future of not just their business, but the economy that will drive their growth and development. The Macao Tourism and Culture Summit 2015 at the Macao Gaming Show embraces everything in a changing marketplace.
“This year is the first of a series of crucial summits - our vision is not just about this year; it’s about next year and the years to come. This investment in the infrastructure of a continent is a decade-long plan. We believe it’s our role to discuss the opportunities available to our key sectors of gaming, leisure, tourism and entertainment, and this forum is the start of this program.”
Organizers of the summit will be announcing the line-up of speakers during the course of the month, and next week it will unveil the full sessions list which will be targeted at decision makers and industry professionals from all sectors of the off line/on line gaming industry around the world. The Summit will also cater to leading figures drawn from government and regulatory bodies, the banking, investment, legal and consulting sectors as well as research and education.
Tickets will be priced at HKD3,800/delegate for a three-day pass and HKD2,800 for a one-day pass to both the conference and exhibition. Discounts for multiple bookings are being set at 10% for bookings of three delegates or more. An Early Bird discount of 15% will be on offer through to September 30.
