With the opening of Massachusetts' first casino coming soon, Scientific Games' Derik Mooberry talked with Yogonet about the products that will adorn Plainridge Park's gaming floor.

Plainridge Park Casino has selected Scientific Games as an important partner for its casino management, player-tracking, and rewards systems. What are the benefits of the deal for your company?

Plainridge Park will be deploying a wide array of products from the Scientific Games portfolio. We see this as an extension of our longstanding gaming partnerships with Penn National Gaming, and we're delighted to be part of Plainridge Park's plan for its future.

That future will include games, electronic tables and systems from all three of our brands — Bally, WMS, and Shuffle Master — and we see that as a win for the casino, their players, and us.

Plainridge Park Casino will be the first casino to open in Massachusetts and there's a lot of excitement, as its opening marks a milestone for the state..

It's very exciting to be part of this new market. New markets bring new players, and it’s the players that drive our innovation of new gaming experiences. Our team worked closely with the Penn National Gaming management team to determine the product mix based on a thorough analysis of the surrounding markets.

Penn National's Casino will be the first in the country to implement a Bally play-management system for responsible gaming. What does this system offer? What gives it the edge over others?

Scientific Games is very excited about the opportunity to provide an automated system for play management, also known as responsible gaming and voluntary pre-commitment in international markets. We leveraged our experience in deploying this responsible gaming and voluntary pre-commitment product in Australia and New Zealand in recent years to develop a robust and feature-rich application that also meets Massachusetts' state requirements. Using our systems to help players play responsibly and within their budgets is a great step forward. We see Penn Gaming's decision to partner with Scientific Games in the use of our Play Management solution, along with other core systems, as a major vote of confidence in our systems capabilities and service.
