With few days to go before the G2E Asia show, Comtrade’s Steven Valentine talked with Yogonet about the firm’s current situation in the Asia Pacific region: “We are rapidly establishing ourselves as a leading provider in Asia”.

W

hat are your expectations for G2E Asia? What will you be doing at the show?

Our expectations for G2E Asia are high. We see this show rapidly growing in importance for us as a company. In the past the majority of our focus for exhibiting went into the London ICE show but we see G2E Asia as a show that can spearhead our expansion plans. This year we will be meeting with existing clients and potential new ones and establish plans to have a stand there next year.

Why is the Asia Pacific region important for Comtrade Gaming?

Asia and the pacific offer the opportunity for significant growth in a short space of time. There are no other markets that currently offer such a large opportunity and the ability to deliver quick results.

What is the most significant opportunity you’re seeing at the moment?

Everybody wants to know what the next big thing in Asia is going to be. We believe there will be a real focus on technology to support the rapid growth operators have achieved in Asia. Player acquisition doesn’t seem to be a problem but player retention certainly is. Many operators simply don’t have the tools they need for bonus, loyalty, marketing and many other areas that are key for player retention. The software we provide automates these functions and gives a whole new player experience.

In October 2014 you said you were monitoring the US market to find the right entry point, how is the expansion in the US going so far?

We are still actively seeking the right entry point but we certainly won’t rush this to the detriment of our business just to be there. We are rapidly establishing ourselves as a leading provider in Asia and the fact it is easier to do business there naturally means it is currently taking more focus.

What gives Comtrade Gaming the edge over other companies in Asia?

At Comtrade Gaming we always put a client’s needs first and we have a very flexible approach to suit customer’s specific requirements. Due to the speed in which changes happen in the Asian market our agile and open approach is perfectly suited for this.
