Manila casino to receive penalty for recently-announced late opening

(Philippine).- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp’s chairman, CristinoNaguiat, said the organization will penalise an affiliate of Japan’s Universal Entertainment Corp if the affiliate fails to open a USD2 B casino-resort in Manila next year as planned.

The news agency quotes the Philippine Amusement and Gaming’s chairman, Cristino Naguiat, as saying Universal Entertainment’s affiliate in the Philippines, Tiger Resorts Leisure and Entertainment, would forfeit a USD2.24 million surety that it had put up.

Tiger Resorts said last month it would probably begin building the casino-resort in 2016, a year later than planned.
