“Peru is a very modern market with a strict regulation”

(Peru, Exclusive Yogonet.com).- Max Lindenberg, Director of Marketing, AGI, talked to Yogonet.com about the participation of Novomatic in the latest edition of the Peru Gaming Show. “With its local subsidiaries Novomatic maintains a strong position in the Peruvian market; leading in both segments: gaming operations with 13 casinos and as a gaming technology supplier”, he said. He also talked about the products exhibited at the show and analyzed the current situation of Latin America in general.

What products are you presenting for the Peruvian market?
The Dominator cabinet, which was presented in London for the first time, leads the presentation and is shown with the latest Novo Line games and multi-game mixes. Also based on the Novo Line platform is the brand new Novostar V.I.P. cabinet which uses a giant 46” screen thatis located in the perfect ergonomic distance to play. The Panther Roulette also debuts in Peru; it is a single player Roulette, where the guest is dealer and player at the same time as he is given the opportunity to shoot the Roulette ball into the wheel via a mechanic Pinball mechanism. The Panther Roulette is also available in a version with HD video games.


We also presented the Magic Joker Jackpot as well as the first hybrid jackpot of the industry, called Jewels Factory. It is a combination of a mystery and a community jackpot. Last but not least our colleagues from our Argentinian subsidiary Octavian presented the ACP (Accounting, Control,Progressives) casino management system, a highly flexible modular casino management system designed to optimize operations of all sizes.


How has Novomatic evolved in Peru?
We have a very solid position in this market as we’re following here, too the very successful dual business strategy of being both an operator and a provider of high tech gaming technology together with best after sales service and support via our local subsidiaries.


What is your growth margin, considering that you are leaders in both segments? What new goals have you set?
During the first half of 2014 Crown Gaming Peru hasbeen able to increase the number of installed machines in the market and based on the excellent performance of our products we’re confident that there is still potential. Also the systems business is important to us and shows good further prospects for the year.


And how do you see the Peruvian market at a regulatory level? What improvements do you think could be implemented?
Peru has a very modern market with a strict regulation, a situation which NOVOMATIC strongly supports as all our activities are strictly limited to markets in which a reliable regulatory framework exists.


At the Puerto Rican show, Jens Halle (CEO of Novomatic Americas) talked about the possibility to incorporate new casinos as operator in Latin America. What can you add on the matter?
We always observe the different markets and have plans in variouscountries. For example we have just completed a new casino project in Nicaragua this week. Other countries in Latin America such as Paraguay hold further opportunities for a globally operating company like the Novomatic Group which already runs more than 1,500 gaming operations of all kinds throughout the world.


How do you see the rest of Latin America? On top of Peru, what other markets are important for Novomatic?
The whole continent is important for Novomatic. Colombia is a very good and constantly developing market, for example. Considering the current problems in Argentina, Colombia is today the busiest hot spot of the Latin American industry.


Will you assist to SAGSE Buenos Aires?
Yes, we will be there with a stand of our own as in the years before and we have already confirmed our presence. We are committed to the Argentinian market, so we have to be there in order to meet our customers even if the current import situation is difficult.

How do you think technology will evolve in the short term?

The Game still is and always will be the most important factor for a successful product. However, today it is becoming increasingly important to see how it can be distributed through the different channels available to reach the end customer. Thus networking technologies and the convergence between the various channels is a vital factor for long term success on the market. Novomatic has available and is working on numerous technologies for all market segments of the industry to be able to meet the customer’s demand wherever he wants. The result will be the seamless interconnection of terrestrial, online and mobile gaming.
