A positive backdrop for SAGSE Central America and Caribbean May 7-8

Gambling activity ramps up revenues in Panama

(Panama).- The Panamanian Gambling Control Board has reported revenues totalling USD 80.1 million for 2013. The figure compares favourably with the USD 76 million collected in 2012.

ccording to the Gaming Control Board, which forms part of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Type "A" machines collected almost USD 42 million, while in 2012 they made USD 37 million - an increase to the state's coffers by more than USD 4.5 million.

Casinos made revenues of USD 24.5 million, fractionally up from the USD 24, 3 million they registered in 2012. Type "C" machines won USD 24,000 more in 2013 than in 2012. These figures, added to the money made through other games of chance - such as Right to key, televised bingo, records and game programs, among others -  increased state proceeds by 5% compared with 2012. Against this positive backdrop SAGSE Central America & Caribbean will be celebrating its 10 edition.  Organizers have expanded the exhibition space, which will take place on May 7-8 in the beautiful city of Panama at the new Hotel El Panama Convention Center.
