Sands China beats SJM as casino market leader

(Macau).- Sands China accounted for 25 percent of total gaming revenue last month, ousting SJM Holdings from top spot in the league table of casino operators. Data compiled by Business Daily show that SJM Holdings had 22 percent of the casino market, one percentage point less than in January.

Of the remaining operators, Galaxy Entertainment Group had a 21-percent market share, Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd had 12 percent, Wynn Macau had 11 percent and MGM China Holdings had 9 percent.

Macau’s casinos had us$ 4.8 billion in gross gaming revenue last month, 40.3 percent more than a year earlier.
