Clarion adds to its gaming team with senior marketing appointment

(UK).- Clarion, responsible for the industry’s leading gaming brands, including ICE Totally Gaming, ICE Conferences, EiG, GiGse, BgC, WrB and the recently established Corporate Intelligence division (Ci), has a new Marketing Director in the form of senior events specialist Jo Mayer.

J

o Mayer, who was part of the Clarion team attending G2E and will attend EiG in Barcelona, has over 18-years marketing experience delivering major events including the award winning Ecobuild which attracted 45,000 visitors, and as Head of Marketing for UBM Live.

Mayer, who reports to Portfolio Director, Kate Chambers, stated: “In the UK exhibition industry ICE, in particular, is recognised as being amongst an elite group of best of breed international events and I’m naturally delighted to be working on February’s event in addition to the other gaming brands in what is an expanding portfolio. This is an exciting time to be involved with the brands as we launch the Brasilian Gaming Congress, develop the Corporate Intelligence division and deploy the Sensational ICE campaign for 2014. My aim is to consolidate our undoubted strengths in the market, harness the power of digital and social media and work closely with all of our many stakeholders in order to confirm Clarion’s status as the gaming event organiser of choice.”

Commenting on the  appointment, Kate Chambers, said: “I am delighted to welcome Jo to the team after what has been an exhaustive recruitment process. It was very important that we brought the right calibre person in as opposed to just adding to our head count and Jo has the experience, skill- set and ‘can do’ approach to make a real difference, particularly as we look to expand the portfolio and bring new products to market.”
