Harmen Brenninkmeijer, firm’s Senior VP for Asia and Strategic Markets

“Asia is offering new opportunities to Inspired Gaming”

(Macau, exclusive Harmen Brenninkmeijer, Senior VP for Asia and Strategic Markets, granted an interview to about the products that the firm will showcase at upcoming G2E Asia in Macau. “Our expectations for every show are always optimistic and we are displaying those products which have a key place in the Asian market,” he commented.

hat are you planning to show at G2E Asia?
We are showing the world’s most advanced virtual sports and numbers games, including the industry’s first Virtual Cricket and Inspired’s new BetBOX Bet Management System, which enables operators to process virtual sports bets over the counter.

Another exciting innovation is the new generation of Sabre; the synchronized multi table game product called Sabre Synchro. This unique ETG product allows players to bet on different electronic table games, including roulette and virtual horses, at the same time on Sabre’s panoramic 26-inch widescreen.

Inspired will also showcase its range of international VLTs: Bingo Blaze, Storm and Prospero. All of Inspired’s VLT cabinets are powered by Inspired’s Open Core platform that allows new games to be added remotely. Inspired’s large library of games includes slots, jackpot games, Latin bingo, SWP and casino games. These innovative VLT products are especially interesting for fast growing Asian markets such as the Philippines.

What are your expectations for the show?
Our expectations for every show are always optimistic and we are displaying those products which have a key place in the Asian market. Virtual Sports is likely to be our star product at the show, especially the brilliant new Virtual Cricket (watch a demo here). We wanted to launch Virtual Cricket at G2E Asia because the sport is so popular in the region.

The new BetBOX Bet Management System now makes it possible for any operator to add virtual sports and numbers to their product mix. There are different packages and pricing levels available so high-quality virtual sports and numbers are now truly available for every gaming operator - where virtual fixed odds betting is legal, of course. I think we will see more lotteries and casinos signing up for our virtual products at the show.

A second star will surely be our Sabre Synchro electronic table gaming product with roulette and virtual horse betting. Sabre Synchro is the industry’s first synchronised multi table game product and it allows players to alternate between different electronic table games, including roulette (live, auto or virtual wheels) and virtual horse betting.

By utilising Sabre’s panoramic 26-inch widescreen the changes back and forth between different games can be done swiftly from the same screen. It’s a fast-paced entertainment experience that is particularly suited to ETG terminals by offering players several channels of entertainment for when the roulette wheel is spinning or the virtual horse race is underway. It’s fast-paced, continuous fun.

There is no need to cash out and change machine or to go back to the menu screen to select a different game – they are all at the player’s fingertips at all times and can be enjoyed at the same time.

How do you define your work with your partners and clients in the region?
Since we have entered the Asian-Pacific region we have both strengthened our existing partnerships and increased our customer base. We have a close and strategic relationship with Silver Heritage Limited (SHL) and AGTech, both of whom have acted as partners for our key products in the region.

We already have a substantial number of electronic roulette, street gaming machines and virtual sports products live throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Our Virtual Motor Racing is popular in Hunan province in China, where it is called – Lucky Racing. It became China’s first government approved rapid-draw lottery three years ago and is now live in more than 1,700 National Sports Lottery venues. In the next 12 months we’ll see some exciting developments here.

Regarding our expansion in the online Asian market, we recently signed an agreement for our virtual sports with ONEworks - one of Asia’s largest sportsbook platform providers. Thanks to this deal, Asian online sportsbooks can now offer our virtual sports including football, horse racing, greyhound racing, speedway, motor racing, tennis and cycling. We look forward to similar content deals in the future.

What products are most in demand from Asian operators?
In Macau and all of the casino markets in Asia, electronic roulette is growing in popularity year-on-year. Electronic gaming machines are popular with new resort casinos and as well as the older casinos who have proven the success of electronic table gaming products and are looking to expend the electronic gaming area.

Table gaming is extremely popular in Asia and electronic terminals are solving lots of issues with regulatory limitations, space and staffing that many of the casinos are having. For this reason I am confident that Sabre Synchro will be popular at the show.

Our virtual sports is interesting to Asian lotteries because it is a great addition to retail lottery shops that doesn’t take up much space, fits well with the profile of lottery players and can be scheduled to provide a new event to bet on every three minutes. It’s continuous entertainment that’s graphically very appealing to players.

With regard to Virtual Sports, what’s new on Inspired’s stand compared to last year’s show?
As previously mentioned, this 2013 show is full of virtual sports innovation. We’ll be launching our new BetBOX Bet Management System, which is a brand new system that enables operators to take virtual sports bets directly over the counter. We will be demonstrating how easy it is for venues to operate with live demos at our BetBOX bar (booth 443).

We’ve also just launched the industry's first Virtual Cricket game. Virtual Cricket is now our eighth virtual sport and was chosen as our next virtual sport due to the popularity of cricket as a live sports betting product especially in the Asia Pacific region and the UK.

How do you see the industry for the rest of this 2013? What are your plans for the coming months?
Markets such as South East Asia, Macau and the Philippines are developing at an impressive rate and offer strong potential for electronic table gaming, especially due to the limits imposed on live tables. We will be excited to see the reaction in Asia to Sabre Synchro with virtual horses and will be launching new virtual sports on Sabre in time for G2E Vegas in September.

Asia is offering new opportunities to us and we're very happy with the companies that helped to get our feed on the ground. We expect that Virtual Sports will become a must-have product in the region in the next 12 months and we are absolutely ready for this expansion. We’re pleased with our progress so far and feel the future is promising for Inspired in Asia.
