(Macau).- Macau’s Secretary for Economy and Finance Francis, Tam Pak Yuen, said that the number of live gaming tables each new property in Cotai will be allowed, would depend on their non-gaming offering.

“We decide the number of gaming tables according to the non-gaming components and the overall development plan,” said Tam, quoted by government-owned broadcaster TDM.

“When the operators are making their proposals they would want to have, for example, 500 gaming tables. But that’s just a number written down in their proposals,” Tam added.

Tam’s comments were made before it was made public that SJM Holdings had been granted a piece of land in Cotai, becoming the sixth and last gaming operator to be allowed to expand there.
