(Macau).- Macau Legend Development has plans to build a second gaming facility as part of its us$ 645 million redevelopment plan for its Macau Fisherman’s Wharf theme park. Business Daily quotes a person with knowledge of the matter as saying that an agreement for a second casino has already been achieved with the government.

The gaming facility would operate under SJM Holdings’s gaming licence as a third-party promoted casino and it should be ready by 2016 at the latest, the same source added. The government’s revised land grant for Macau Fisherman’s Wharf was published in the official gazette last Wednesday.

The grant detailed enlarging the park’s area by over 23,500 square metres, to 133,000 square metres, but failed to mention a second casino.

Macau Legend announced last month a redevelopment plan for its seven-year-old Macau Fisherman’s Wharf, where Babylon, also an SJM satellite casino, is located.

The first phase of the expansion will refurbish the theme park and add two hotels, a yacht club and a dinosaur museum, Macau Legend CEO David Chow Kam Fai said at the time. Mr Chow did not mention a second casino.

Macau Legend also owns the five-star Macau Landmark hotel, which includes the Pharaoh’s Palace Casino.
