Macau: Casinos to post double-digit growth in September

(Macau).- Macau’s casino industry to post gross gaming revenue for September about US$3.1 billion, according to Nomura, the Japanese brokerage firm. That would represent a year-on-year growth rate of between 18 and 22 %.

(Macau).- Macau’s casino industry to post gross gaming revenue for September about US$3.1 billion, according to Nomura, the Japanese brokerage firm. That would represent a year-on-year growth rate of between 18 and 22 %.

Previously, the Japanese brokerage firm was expecting the city’s casinos to post an outcome of between U$S 3 billion and U$S 3.1 billion.

Nomura cited its Macau gaming revenue sources indicating that the first 16 days in September delivered U$S 1.81 billion, above its initial expectations.

According to Credit Suisse, Macau’s gross gaming revenue was up around 25 % year-on-year in the first 16 days of September.
