The previous record was set in December last year, when the number of guests stood at 820,000.
However, the average length of stay of guests in July decreased by 0.18 nights year-on-year to 1.2 nights.
The occupancy rate of hotels and guest-houses also went down in comparison with one year before, standing at 85.0 percent, down by 3.2 percentage points.
Macau had 66 hotels and 33 guesthouses operating at the end of July, providing over 24,000 rooms, an increase of 11.1 percent year-on-year.
