(UK).- Bookmakers William Hill are celebrating more awards success after their Head of New Channels, Anna Conley, scooped the top gong at the prestigious Women in Gaming Awards, held in London last week.

The Awards aim to highlight the industry’s most inspirational women, their successes, achievements and the contribution they make to their businesses.

Anna Conley was presented with the “Industry Pride of the Year” Award, the overall accolade with the winner selected from all the finalists at the evening, awarded to “one exceptional woman whose vision, innovative approach and success makes her an outstanding role model”. She received her trophy from actor and comedian Ricky Gervais.

It was a second WiG award for Anna Conley, after she won the Star of the Future prize at the 2011 ceremony. She joined William Hill Online four-and-a-half years ago to set up and grow the Bingo business and was one of the original employees of Hill’s Gibraltar office.

Commenting on her win, she said; “I am totally shocked and very honoured to win this award and, for once, I am lost for words. I’d like to say a genuine and heartfelt thanks to all the William Hill Bingo team, for working so hard over the last year to help us achieve all our objectives.”

The Women in Gaming Awards aim to highlight the industry’s most inspirational women, their successes, achievements and the contribution they make to their businesses. William Hill had a total of six finalists at the evening, with Anna Conley nominated for two of the awards, Team of the Year (iGaming) and, along with Keren Spitzer, the Industry Achiever of the Year.  Rebecca Atkins was nominated for the “Star of the Future” award, Amanda Burrows for the Leader of the Year (iGaming), Mandy Cooke for Innovator of the Year and Jim Mullen, the Chief Operating Officer for William Hill Online was a finalist in the “Man Championing Women in Business” award.

This win is a second big awards success for William Hill so far this year, having already been crowned Bookmaker of the Year and Chain of the Year at the Betview Magazine awards in May.
