AGSE Panama managed to improve its traditional offer. It is impossible to compare it to big international events, such as Las Vegas, London or Buenos Aires, but when making a balance, it is necessary to mention the good quality and quantity of public that visited Atlapa Convention Center, to accompany the eighth edition of the traditional Panamanian event.
Local operators were present, together with regional operators and international manufacturers, which this year decided to support the show with their presence, no matter if they were exhibitors or not.
Among the main booths, Novomatic bet was remarkable, with an important space in the center of the hall and a wide offer of machines. Other big international names present at the event were Konami, Aristocrat, Belatra, Ainsworth, Spielo and Merkur, companies that brought their latest developments to the regional public, together with local and international companies interested specially in reaching the Panamanian and Central American public.
“The company has shown a self-improvement compared to previous years, expanding a space of more than 500 sqm, with a 30% more of international exhibitors, and a 20% more of visitors, all international. It shows that SAGSE Gaming Panama reaffirms its position as the only international exhibition in the region, from Mexico to Peru,” pointed Alan Burak, Commercial and Show Manager of the event, during the first afternoon of SAGSE Panama.
In line with the event, SAGSE authorities held, for the first time, the awards ceremony “To the Performance in the Latin American gaming market”, with the aim to award the most important and influential executives in the region.
Some of the people awarded were Eduardo Aching, VP of International Sales of Konami; Alejandro Saraintaris, Sales Director for South America of Aristocrat and Jens Halle, General Director of Austrian Gaming Industries – Novomatic.
Important Panamanian agenda
Although the official opening took place yesterday at 3 p.m., as planned, SAGSE schedule started offering interesting spaces since Tuesday night, when Cirsa offered a cocktail at the swimming pool of Hard Rock Panama, with the assistance of around 50 executives.
Yesterday morning, the first day of the event started with the presentation of Randall Fine, former Corporate VP of Marketing and Slot Operations of Harrah’s, and founder of The Fine Point Group.
Nowadays, the well-known consultant offers marketing conferences for casinos worldwide, and in this case, around 70 Panamanian executives had the chance to assist to a master talk in which the specialist remarked Las Vegas market growth in the last 20 years, the diversity of offer that a casino must have in order to achieve a great number of public, Macau phenomenon and varied marketing strategies applied to different investment scenarios.
“The number of public exceeded our expectations, because we count with a great number of businessmen and executives of operations from the whole region,” added Burak when making a balance of Fine presentation in Panama.
At 1 p.m, it was held the draw of the Panamanian Lottery of Charity, carried out in the entrance hall of Atlapa Convention Center, was broadcast live to the whole country and followed by thousands of Panamanian citizens, so it is considered one of the most traditional draws of its kind worldwide.
The show was held between 3 p.m. and 20 p.m., and at the end, Codere Group organized a cocktail at Sheraton Hotel, in which visitors and exhibitors could close “one of the best “one of the best first business days in Panama City”, as its organizers assured at the conclusion of the event.
