(Macau).- The sixth annual Global Gaming Expo Asia welcomed more than 6,100 gaming industry professionals from across the globe, surpassing attendance at last year’s event by nearly 8 %. These figures, released by G2E Asia organizers Reed Exhibitions and the AGA, reflect a continued expansion of gaming throughout the Asian region.

G2E Asia 2012 was held May 22 – 24 at the Venetian Macao. Event attendees represented 67 different countries and regions, including mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan, the Philippines, Australia, the United States, Singapore, South Korea and Malaysia.

As in past years, the 2012 G2E Asia floor showcased the latest cutting-edge gaming technologies and business solutions, featuring over 130 exhibitors from 24 countries.  The exhibition also welcomed international buying groups and VIP buyers from new markets like the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia and Malaysia.

“The Asian markets continue to represent a boom for the gaming industry,” said Frank J. Fahrenkopf Jr., president and CEO of the American Gaming Association. “G2E Asia has succeeded yet again this year in bringing together various stakeholders in a burgeoning market to exchange ideas, information and technology.”

The conference programs at G2E Asia 2012 welcomed over 600 attendees. Among the most popular conference programs this year was the “Spotlight on Macau: The World’s Largest Gaming Market,” which features a series of in-depth discussions such as the size and shape of the market, challenges it currently faces, as well as general expansion of gaming in Asia. Other popular topics included the “Evolution of Junket Operations” and “Expansion of Gaming Technology in Asia.”

Based on industry feedback, new education seminars were also added for CCTV technology, surveillance, and game protection to provide the most up-to-date expert insights to help gaming security and surveillance executives succeed in this rapidly growing region.

G2E Asia provides unparalleled networking opportunities, allowing attendees from around the global to meet and connect. Two new networking events were organized this year – a regulator and Government representative cocktail reception on May 22 which brought together over 70 regulators, government officials and gaming executives, as well as the debut of the Global Gaming Women networking event which attracted over 50 international women executives.  The breakfast forum provided an exclusive sharing and speed mentoring session for both senior female industry leaders and young executives in the Asian Gaming industry.

Global Gaming Women launched at G2E in Las Vegas in October 2011, and operates with a goal of “connecting female leaders of today with female leaders of tomorrow” within an industry whose top executives and representatives have historically been men, said organizers.
