“The quality of visitors is terrific at G2E Asia”

(Macau, Exclusive Yogonet.com).- Jeremy Alchin, Marketing Manager at Konami Australia, commented the products that the firm presented at G2E Asia. “We had a fantastic response at the expo”, he pointed. Alchin also talked about the Asian markets that are their main target and about the firm’s potential.

ow did the Asian market respond to Podium K2V Video, Advantage 5 Stepper and Advantage Revolution Stepper and all the products that you have presented?
We had a fantastic response at the expo. The standout products were Beat the Field and Free Spin Dragons. Beat the Field is based on a horse racing theme, which is obviously a huge culture for many Asian countries. This coupled with the ability to compete against other players in a community style link is very appealing.

The key with Free Spin Dragons is the free game progressive. A major attract on most titles in the market is free games. To have a product that accumulates free spins on a link is a great concept. It was launched to coincide with year of the dragon and is performing particularly well in many jurisdictions with hugely popular China Shores base game.

What can you tell us about G2E Asia visitors’ quality?
The quality of visitors is terrific at G2E Asia. The region in general is so strong at the moment and there are more developments on the horizon which translates to opportunities for the manufacturers. Our customers attend because they though know they will see the latest and greatest products. It’s a great expo to be a part of.

Which Asian markets are your main target?
Konami have a huge market share in the Philippines. Whilst we look to maintain and increase our presence, we are placing emphasis on building our profile in Macau. When entering Macau, due to commitments in other jurisdictions, we didn’t allocate sufficient resources for product development and establish the correct distribution networks initially. We are getting on top of these pre requisites and starting to turn things around. The release of our new operating platform, KP3, later this year will certainly provide a huge kick.

In your opinion, what is Konami potential in this fast growing market?
To gauge Konami potential, you only need to look at what has been achieved with the product performance and ship share in the US over the last couple of years. Further to this, Konami has a very long and successful history in arcade products. KP3 allows enable that type of technology, and brings that type of space to the gaming floor, to take it to another level.
