“Merkur Gaming places much emphasis on providing games that match local tastes”

(Mexico, Exclusive Yogonet. com).- Gauselmann Group will be present at upcoming ELA event in Mexico next week. Its COO Thomas Niehenke and Rolf Falke, Spokesman of the Executive Management, talked about the games that the firm will exhibit and about the peculiarities of the Mexican market.


ow are you preparing for ELA?
Thomas Niehenke: Merkur Gaming places much emphasis on providing games that match local tastes. The perfect example is the new Cantinflas game. Cantinflas is a loveable character, cherished by all around Latin America. Originating from Mexico, Cantinflas was seen as the local version of Charlie Chaplin. This humour and quick wittedness play a fundamental role in this new game – only from Merkur Gaming.

Rolf Falke: Specifically for the Latin American gaming markets we are creating more and more games to meet their individual needs. Above all our new themed game “Cantinflas” with the famous film figure promises a great success.

What are the peculiarities of the Mexican market?
TN: The Mexican market exists of huge modern casinos. Merkur Gaming offers high-class cabinets like the Vision Slan Top and Highflyer, a sit-down cabinet with a separated top monitor and a very relaxing chair to make players feel more comfortable.

How is Merkur positioned in Mexico?
TN: We are well-known because of the state-of-the-art quality of our machines, “made in Germany”.  This German quality creates a lot of interest in Mexico. Especially the Vision  Slant Top cabinet with its ergonomic attractive design presents the proven German quality. The special switching possibility to show the reels on the upper 26” monitor enhances players comfort. The Premium Casino cabinet rounds of our range of cabinets. And as a consequent development of the casino machines, we see the SBG technology to allow the operators the configuration, control and analysis of their machines also from the distance.

What has been the market’s feedback since Cantinflas’ launch?
TN: Cantinflas creates a huge interest at the Fadja show in Bogota in April. The Latin Americans love this character, and this is a perfect basis for us to launch more games under this brand. And the first results prove that the idea of using local Mexican themes is the right way to go.

What are your objectives for this year?
TN: Together with their partner Jestronic, Merkur Gaming is looking forward to providing local operators with a huge variety of fantastic games, modern casino cabinets and furthermore with the best possible sales, leasing and technical support to fit their individual needs. We are sure that among this great variety of games every player can find his favourite one.
